Term 3 was a good term but it was quite busy in the last few weeks (Weeks 7, 8 and 9) we had our topic inquiries about ICT, Haiku Poems, Myths and Legends and Art. For our term topic we had to do ours around ICT we then had to present it in our chosen form our teacher was asking for us to present on something different other than keynote my partner Ruby and I chose to do ours on Google Docs, we had to have one big question and three subsidiary questions the three subsidiary questions had to be relevant to the big question we had. The score we got was 5P I am quite proud of that. For our Haiku's our teacher put us into groups of four and told us our task we all had our own stations one person was the historian, another was the scholar, another was the beat scene scout and I was the editor, we all had to do that and the editor had to put it on a presentation site and do a review on the tutorial of the site you presented it on the we all had to present it to the class, we did ours on mix book. This term we have also been doing quite a lot about Myths and Legends we made a video with a partner or in my case partners we chose a myth or legend and made a video on our chosen web site and presented to the class I have to admit ours didn't turn out as well as planned. We also had to choose a myth or legend and retell it to make a book for the juniors of our school. This term we did quite a lot of art too we did things such as mosaic, charcoal sketching, water colour painting and pointillism.
With the mosaic we had to plan our mosaic we got to do anything we wanted I did hearts after we'd planned and shown the teacher what we were going to do we got to choose a piece of coloured paper and start our mosaic our teacher had gone out and bought little pieces of square cardboard mosaic pieces there were all sorts of colours and start on our mosaic when we were finished our teacher put them on the wall making it look like a mosaic on the wall. Six of the mosaics got chosen to go to Aratoi an art display.
When we did our charcoal sketching our teacher brought along one of her own vases she really liked and asked us to sketch it for art. We first had to plan it as we do with all our other art for our planning we used a pencil when we had showed our teacher the plan we had to do the good copy with Charcoal! I thought it would be so hard because the charcoal stick was so fragile and we had to sketch with it! In the end though I think my sketch turned out okay but a bit dark and nobody broke a charcoal stick!
The water colour paintings were quite fun and once again we did have to plan we had to come up with a view and show our teacher then with water colour we painted the backgrounds with the colour of our choice that we had and left them to dry over night. The next day we started on our actual painting we did the view we had planned and stuck them on a coloured piece of paper and stapled them on the wall.
Most recently we have been pointillism, pointillism is similar type of art with mosaic but you make a picture with little dots or points we did one on our computers on kid pix and we did another on an A4 piece of paper for the calenders we are making for our parents to buy you can choose between a card or calender or both.
So that was term 3 it was definitely but I can't wait till term 4 camp, leavers dinner and last day who can't look forward to that.
